What is Automated Micro-Needling?

Automated Micro-Needling, also referred to as Epidermal Collagen Induction Therapy (ECIT), represents a recent advancement in aesthetic medicine designed to treat fine lines, acne scars, and enhance the skin’s texture, tone, and color. This procedure involves the use of the Eclipse MicroPen®, which creates controlled micro-injuries on the skin to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. As the skin repairs itself, the epidermis becomes thicker, reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Additionally, the Eclipse MicroPen® Elite generates micro-channels that improve the absorption of topical gels, creams, and serums, thus enhancing their effects on deeper skin layers.

What are the benefits of Micro-Needling?

The benefits include a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, improved skin tone and texture, and a more youthful, softer appearance with fewer visible signs of aging. The MicroPen® Elite can also help diminish the appearance of hyper-pigmentation, uneven skin tone, acne scars, traumatic scars, and stretch marks.

When will I see results?

Patients often observe an immediate “glow” to their skin. Noticeable changes develop over several weeks, with results continuing to improve for up to six months post-treatment as collagen production persists.

How many treatments will I need?

While some patients achieve optimal results with a single annual treatment, it is generally recommended for most patients to undergo a series of 2-3 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart. For those with deep wrinkles, advanced photo-aging, stretch marks, or acne scars, 6-8 sessions at six-week intervals are advised.
